Nowadays, your cellphone seems to carry many hats. It doesn’t only let you make calls, surf the net, play music and videos. It can let you do more, such as the Samsung’s cellphone app, possibly lets you know when the best time is for making babies.

Forget about Samsung first, lets look at another cellphone that does beyond only for making phone calls. It’s the GlucoPhone, which works as a module to be added to your cellphone some Verizon cell phones, to let you measure the glucose level in your blood. Diabetes seems to be pretty scary and always maintains its position as the top 10 killers in certain countries. That’s why it’s the best that we’re consistently aware of the glucose level in our body. So, we could probably take as earlier action as possible i.e to reduce sugar intake. The GlucoPhone module here is definitely handy for us to always take a quick check of our glucose level.

The GlucoPhone module features built-in glucose meter, which uses small blood samples and test strips to check your blood sugar levels. You can also download software to help you keep track of your glucose level records and send it to doctor for determining your risk of getting the deadly disease, so earlier possible action can be taken. Too bad is this module is now only compatible with Verizon LG5200 phone but more models should be forthcoming.
