I agree that back to the old days, we enjoyed so much of recording and compiling our favorite songs on those retro cassettes and then send it to our little girl friends. Due to advent of technology in digital music, the retro cassettes are hard to play a role in this new century. Suck UK, now has a pretty good idea, they have merged the current digital audio technology with the fun of those retro cassettes.
It’s the Mixtape USB, a retro tape box that has a USB flash drive attached in it. The idea is to let you upload digital audio tracks and then send it to friends. It comes with a cassette sleeve, so you can enjoy all the fun of writing down the titles of songs on it, which is definitely the same fun that you get back in those old days. Of course, this idea simply fits old folks like us, who miss making those mix tapes so much. I think the younger generation will not be interested in doing such a kind of handmade compilation at all. Unless, they wanna have a feel how this old-day of music compilations managed to tie a knot between their dads and moms. There is no info on pricing and availability yet for this product.
