Sometime, we need some simpler indicator to tell us time, weather, the movement of stock market or if your friends are on the instant messenger. The Ambient ORB device is just the gadget that indicates the status of information by slowly transitioning between thousands of colors. For example, it grows more green to indicate the stock market movement is up, red indicates down and yellow means it’s steady. If the market fluctuates too much, more than 1.5%, then this device will pulsate.
This device is customizable, so you can subscribe to couple of free channels for the market indices (Nasdaq, Dow etc) or weather in selected cities. You can even subscribe to premium service, which costs you $1/week for better content such as customized portfolio, local weather, pollen count, or IM buddy watch etc.
Furthermore, if you’re a bit more tech-savvy, knowing how to twist around with HTML, you can also program it to control its color, and also some tracking such as how full your hard drive is, the traffic on your web, posts on blog and even your credit-card debt. The device works on 110V AC power outlet. It needs NO Internet connection, which is workable on all the nationwide wireless network in the United States. This device simply reminds me the Nabaztag bunny. But if you don’t like a bunny, this much simpler ball-shaped object would be a better choice to indicate all the information status that you need. So, you could easily take a peek at it to know what you want, while busily preparing meal in the kitchen for your loved ones.
