NEC and Hitachi - world first water cooling system for your hard drive!
Water cooling system is commonly seen in vehicles, but seems to be pretty rare or have never been used for cooling computer peripherals. Hitachi and NEC are now working to produce, what is claimed to be the first world’s first water cooling system for your hard drive. This cooling system has the advantage that it produces pretty low noise, which is lower than 25db. This is definitely suitable to be used in audiovisual machines that need minimized noise level. Anyway, NEC will also make this special cooling system available for its desktop PC in the near future. I hope those ducts and container used to transport and store the water are durable enough that no leaking is possible, even after being used for couple of years.

[...] We’ve learned that water-cooling system is one of the most efficient way to keep some of your computer’s components cool. And there is no exception that similar concept can be applied to the entire PC too. Amazingly, shown in the picture is a fully water-cooled personal computer. The system has got couple of control valves and taps, which I guess are for you to control the coolness. When you have intensive processing on this PC, make sure you turn on the tap to its full level to keep it as cool as possible in order to achieve top performance. [...]
