World’s most secure flash drive in action – IronKey self destructs!

World's most secure flash drive in action - IronKey self destructs if you get password wrong for 10 times!
It’s undeniable that it’s the most secure flash drive in the world. Just simply by its name, it sounds like an unbreakable iron! This IronKey flash drive makes use of military grade AES hardware-based encryption that the encryption is handled by its IronKey Cryptochip.

The encryption keys are stored inside the drive, and you need to provide a password in conjunction with the keys in order to access it.The drive will go for self destruct if you failed consecutively for ten times of entering the correct password. Its self destruct is even up to the extent of destroying everything on the drive and the data is completely unrecoverable.

To me, it’s simply too strict for its security especially for the forgetful ones. You know, you’ll start panicking when you’ve tried more than 5 times getting the password wrong. And it’s simply pretty easy to hit the ten due to your panic. I wish there would be at least one more chance to reset the failed attempt count before reaching ten.

So, you could take a break first, calm down and try your best to recall your password and then try again. The flash drive also includes feature that lets you log on to the company website to access a program which can turn Firefox into a secure stealth surfing application. Other security features included are a “potting” technique that fills the innards of the key with black goo, waterproofing and preventing hardware crypto-analysis.

$79 for 1GB, 2GB for $109 or a 4GB drive for $149.
