A touchless electronic bath tissue dispenser, as shown in the picture, which is claimed to be the first one in the world that is touchless, according to Kimberly-Clark. But, I think we’ve seen one just last month, which is also a touchless paper dispenser.
Anyway, the touchless dispenser of Kimberly-Clark works on coreless paper, which is different from the one we’ve seen before that works on all sizes of perforated paper. You just need to give a wave of your hand under its sensor, then a pre-measured amount of toilet paper will be rolled out to you.
And you can program it for the sheet length such as 16″ (Short), 20″ (Medium) and 24″, so you can control your kids not to waste too much paper. Kimberly-Clark calls it a “controlled dispensing” that can help you save at least 20% of the amount of tissue used. This dispenser definitely guarantees you a single hand operation, so you can leave the other hand free for some other more “important” task.
Its battery can last more than one year. But you still can fall back to manual once the battery goes flat i.e. by pushing and turning a knob on the front of it. I know, it’s painful to fall back to manual since you’ve been spoiled by the touchless operation.
There is an LED that tells you its battery level. Be sure to always keep an eye on it for early replacement of battery, so you don’t have to get into the hassle of having to turn the knob for paper. The LED also tells you the paper level, this is what you must check always as it’s simply no fun at all while waving your hand getting no paper.
