We’ve learned before that Sony was having plan to add cellphone functionality to its PSP. Now, they also have plan to add phone functionality to its Walkman product. Of course, this sounds a little bit weird as mostly other players will do the reverse i.e. adding music player functionality to a cellphone instead of the other way round. If the news sources is reliable, then we’ll get to see the latest version of Sony Walkman NW-A808 player having the capability of making phone calls.
Basically, the new version of the Walkman doesn’t look much different than the existing models, except it’s got more choices for its colors, which are pink or white. But this new version of 8GB Walkman will come with basic phone functionality such as calling and SMS, as well as music and video playback. Anyway, the usability as a cellphone of this Walkman could be pretty low. As it’s got neither phone keys nor touch screen. The only keys are the ones you see in the picture, which is only good for navigating through music list. My guess is, you need to have all your phone numbers pre-loaded into the contact list of the Walkman phone. So, to make call, you can only scroll through your contact list and pick anyone in the list for calling. Meaning that you won’t be able to call the numbers that are not loaded in your contact list. This phone should retail for the equivalent of £140.

Maybe it’d be much cheaper than any a full funtional cellphone
, furthermore you can listen to music… Contradicting with Sony’s Walkman phone such as W880, W850 etc
