Intel has found a way to boost high performance computing. They’ve just announced that some new cables that they’ve designed which can boost the performance of clustered systems. These new cables are called “Intel Connects“, when used together with its Intel Cluster ready solution, it will very much simplify the integration of various components in a clustered environment. The “Intel Connects” cables will work with Inifiband and 10GbE-based systems that promise a high speed of 20Gbps over a distance of 100 meters. Other than the speed, these cables are also much more manageable than any other cables in terms of its lightweight, size etc. It weighs 84% lighter, 83% smaller and having a bend radius that is 40% smaller. There is no word about its availability.
