Making use of kinetic energy produced by motion or light energy to transform into usable electromagnetic energy to power gadgets, is not a new concept. The old question still remains here on how efficient the transformation of these energies. That is the new concept of Sony, which is aiming to produce some cool eco-friendly devices. These concept devices will power itself by some kind of motion, such as rotation, spinning etc and will never need recharging .
The first member in the concept collection is the Spin ‘N’ Snap camera, shown in the picture. This camera needs you to put a finger through each hole and spin the while device around its centre. The spinning turns its dynamo and creates the power to take the next photo. Meaning everytime, you wanna takeĆ shot, you’ve gotta repeat spinning as mentioned. Another in the collection is is the Push POWER Play device, which is either an image or video viewer. This device has a roller on the bottom, which generates power as you drag it across the table. Other than the two, there are also some solar-powered devices in its eco-friendly collection. All these devices are said to be made of recycled plastic. Of course, they all sound cool for the eco-friendly purpose, but they’re simply not so handy for the users. Some will find it pretty troublesome that you’ll need to spin a camera everytime before taking a shot. I wonder if you could spin for couple of times to store up charge sufficient for more than one shot.

Very cool for a walk in the park. But if you see a butterfly, your spinning might spin it away..
