Here comes the Fujitsu’s new member in its LifeBook tablet PC lineup, the T4220, is now available for sale online at the Fujitsu online store starting at a price of $1,769.00 for basic configuration. The T4220 features the Intel Core 2 Duo T7100, T7300, T7500, or T7700 processor and Mobile Intel GM965 Express chipset. The GM965 is the graphical acceleration chipset that powers the Tablet PC’s 12.1-inch XGA TFT display with 1024×768 resolution and an optional outdoor-use design. The T4220 also features digital pen input.
The T4220 offers convertibility for use as a notebook or tablet. It has two memory slots for a total of up to 4GB or DDR2 memory, up to 120GB SATA hard drive at 5400rpm, and a built-in optical drive. Fujitsu also provides as an option for he 1GB Intel Turbo Memory, which can used with Windows Vista only. For the wireless network support, depends on the configuration, which you have options to go for for either an Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, which supports from wirless A, G and even the draft version of upcoming wireless N or Atheros Super AG Wireless LAN, which supports wireless B and G only. Other network connectivity such as Gigabit Ethernet, 56K modem are included and also an optional Bluetooth.
It provides Type I/II PCMCIA slot, three USB ports, Infrared port, VGA output, SD/Memory Stick PRO slot, and a docking connector. There are a fingerprint reader and the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) for taking care of better security. Its weight starts at 4.3lbs with weight saver and has battery life of up to 4.25 hours with main battery or up to 8 hours using both main and modular bay battery. The choice for its operating system is either Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 or Windows Vista Business.
