RAON Digital has just introduced its new UMPC, the EVERUN, which is targetting the Korean market. The EVERUN UMPC comes with two models, which they’re the EVERUN STD and EVERUN Lite.
The EVERUN UMPC weighs only 460g, features a 4.8-inch WVGA(800×480) LCD display that is capable of auto-rotation and auto-brightness control. The use of power saving AMD Geode processor and the high-capacity lithium-ion battery, makes it battery life pretty long, which can last up to 7 hours using standard battery and 12 hours using large battery.
For the wireless network connectivity, it supports built-in 802.11b/g WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and optional HSDPA/Wibro modem. It’s got a QWERTY keypad and also an optical touch mouse. The short is, of course, both models are all running Windows XP Home edition as the OSes. Whereas other manufacturers are already catching up with the second generation UMPC, by having Windows Vista as the OS. That’s the reason why their prices are below $1,000.00. The EVERUN is expected to be available in late June, which will likely cost you around $700.
