The industry keeps producing more and more eco-friendly gadgets and vehicles. Which is simply few words, “we need it”!. Here is another eco-friendly vehicle, it’s an air-powered car, by Motor Development Internationa, which is claimed to make use of compressed air to drive its pistons, engine and wheels. OhGizmo guys have some arguement if this car really brings some eco-friendly impact to the environment.
The car makes use of electrical energy to convert into mechanical energy for compressing the air. The compressed air is then stored and converted back to drive the pistons, engine and the wheels of the car. In between of the transform to and from different types of energy will surely cause some losses.
Basically, this air-powered car is making use of the compressed air as an energy storage medium, which could be less expensive, dangerous or both compared to other energy storage medium such as batteries or hydrogen. But the doubt is if this car would really bring significant impact to the environment or simply over-emphasized of its effectiveness. Well, the manufacturer shall give a full disclosure as to what the costs and benefits are, both environmental and financial, in order for it to be more convincing.

As always people invent these great cars with wonderful features. But they all run into the same problem of not designing a car to what the consumer wants, eventually leading to the demise of a fabulous and ingenious idea. Looking at the picture of the car i would honestly be afraid to drive that vehicle on the streets of the USA.

My grandfather has had patents on engines that ran off air unfortunately he is now 96 years old. (Roland T. Wheeler “Wheeler Motor”)
The power and torque these engines produce is amazing.
I hope one day we can all simply fill our cars with compressed air instead of gasoline……..

There are lots of innovations for cars nowadays. Car companies just kept on building new concepts and even build smaller cars just to save energy and that’s the problem. Sacrificing the comfort, safety just to save energy. Anyways, I know that there will be lots of version of this car before making them the ultimate energy saver cars.

I think we dont need electric compressors to power this car with air, simply we can build windmails that compress the air into glope tanks , just search the net for wind energy..enjoy
