iBackup, the online backup that offers numerous great features and ease of use, has just announced the support for the backup of Oracle server databases. The Oracle database backup supported by iBackup is only available for Oracle on Windows. iBackup lets you backup Oracle server databases that include versions 9i and 10g. One of the great feature is iBackup allows you to backup the Oracle database without having to interrupt the running Oracle database services.
To use iBackup for your Oracle database, you just need to download the Advanced Backup Plug-In after installing the iBackup for Windows.
This wizard will guide you through the backup of your Oracle database. Which it includes features such as taking care of your Oracle authentication, backing up data without interrupting the services, reporting of backup progress, handling security by HTTPS secured data transmission and ease of backup scheduling etc.
Other than this, the plugin wizard also provides you ease of restoration, which it handles well for Oracle database authentication, complete and incomplete recovery methods, handling data transmission securely over HTTPs, providing detailed report and logs of backup progress.
Too bad is iBackup for Oracle is only available for Windows. I really wish to see its future Linux and Oracle XE support, as my company has just migrated most of our Oracle database servers from Windows to the Linux platform.
