Hi, I've had my razr for a few month now, and the only real problem I have with mine is that the mic seems defective, (suddenly the people I'm talking to can't hear me and I have to shake the thing to fix it, how annoying!) which is kind of a big deal in a phone. So I'm exchanging it.

Anyway, I thought I would mention that some carriers (like rogers in canada and apparently AT&T in the states) have DISABLED a number of the features on it, like playing your own MP3's as a ringtone and using the touch screen to read messages. If you are having trouble with those things it could in fact be your carrier's fault, not the phone. There is probably a way to hack it so that they work, but I'm not that clever.

I was a little disappointed when I found that out, since I thought the touch screen idea was neat (this was before the iphone and such were released in Canada) and had songs all picked out for my ringtones. I paid a little extra so that I would get those kind of features. Ah well.

Otherwise its a pretty good phone though.

I'm very unsatisfied with this phone. I purchased it through a T-Mobile store about 6 months ago. After purchasing, we went out to dinner and half of my buttons just didn't work. We ended up taking it back that day and told them my 8, 2, 3, and 6 button had not worked. They replaced it with a new phone, and I've had some difficulties with buttons. I just restart the phone and it's fine. I do like the design of the phone though. However, I wish it would stay how it looked. I have not dropped my phone ONCE and the back is already peeling since it's made out of some rubber material. I can't get my pictures to download and it doesn't always recognize the USB connection. The battery dies pretty easily, and the screen freezes every now and then after sending or receiving text messages. My alarm doesn't always go off, and I've been late to school many times because of it. All in all, I wouldn't spend the amount of money they ask for this. It's cheaply made and it's designed to be "sleek" for the first 2 or 3 months.

This phone is absolutely great but I just don't like the fact that you have to hook it up to a computer to charge the battery and the fact that it takes so freaken long to load on my computer. My computer is only a few weeks old and it takes forever to load on:(

My opinion this phone sux it has all the cool features but you will have to replace it every few months or pay high upgrade fees, if you have problems report them to peter 352550 at motorola maybe he can help

I have the great razr2 v8, I did love it, Now after only 4 months the phones battery fried the phone. I was told by motorola that this phone has battery issues where the battery gets too hot while charging and can fry the phone, causing the battery to always be low, blank white pages, to eventually not letting the phone work at all, I am on my second one now, if it happens again t mobile will trade it in for a krazr....................oh joy why cant they replace it with a phone of the same value

Help me please........ i am a mac user and when i connect my v8 to the USB, my puter is seeing it as a camera and i cant figure out how to get music to my phone. Am i completely missing something here?

Oh and after i personalized my v8 with how i wanted the phone to sound with vibe and ring, the ringer had gone to not ringing at all after about 4hrs, all on its own. Did the external controls silence my phone while it was in my purse or is there something up w/my phone?

I think it is super sexy......

Hey guys i am looking forward to buying this phone sometime this week but i need a few questiosn answered first if anyone can help.

1 - is the speaker loud like when you play ring tones and stuff

2 - memory what's the internal memory for the one on t- mobile.

3 - i currently have a nokia and i can shoot videos for a long time as long as i set the saving to my memory card, i wanna know if the video length can be changed if i set it to save on the memory card instead of the phone itself, and if there even is such an option.

4 - just overall on the scale of 1- 10 were does it rank please non biased replies.

thx in advanced

I am on my third V8. Like others here have mentioned there are issues, serious issues with the keys. They are nearly worthless and texting has become next to impossible. Dialing can be cumbersome and searching from my contacts a nightmare since the search seems to jump letters at whim. The USB port is falling off again, as it completely fell off the first V8 I owned. The center of the screen has developed a moisture bubble which is fairly visible if you look directly at the screen when the light is off. Like others have also mentioned, it is quite perplexing why you cannot see missed calls on the external screen. I could do this ten years ago but I can't do it on my V8? Strange indeed. I am able to view text messages and reply to them from a series of responses. This is completely controlled by the external haptic buttons. But some versions of the software seems to lack this feature, why I do not know? The battery life gets exponentially worse by the week. It is such a shame Motorola chose to drop the bomb with this POS, it could have been a wonderful phone.

HK,

I shouldn't be wasting my time replying to you as it seems you didn't even understand what I was saying. On top of that you had to resort to personal attacks and name calling. That's real adult of you.

My point about the external screen was that the TOUCH CONTROLS ONLY WORK FOR THE MUSIC PLAYER. Not that the external screen only works as a music player. For all other external screen functions, you must use the side controls.

I'm not going to argue with you about whether or not the phone is good or bad because we've have differing opinions and you've already made your decision.

In my estimation it's a well built phone and works well if you use it as a cell phone. Running the IM apps can cause it to reboot in the middle of calls. More functions should use the external screen with touch control.

The USB door breaks off at some point but that's not a big deal.

Battery life is very good depending on your service and how close you are to the towers.

At any rate, that's how I feel about it. I use my Razr2 for phone functions and my iPod Touch for all other functions.
