Here is another innovative gadget by the Japanese. It’s simply too nice for geeks, who can’t even leave surfing the net aside for just a minute. This gadget is called the Pileus Umbella, which will keep you accompanied with the Internet even during those boring rainy days, when you’re not home or caught up at the bus stand waiting for the next bus to come. This project started at Keio University in Spring 2006. The Pileus Umbella has a mini projector attached to its handle. This projector will shoot those images up to the umbrella itself, so you will get to view all those information on websites.
The Pileus Umbrella also comes with camera attached to it, which allows you to take pictures and then upload to Flickr. Downloading photostream from Flickr also possible, and it’s equiped with GPS chip and Google Maps, which gives you slideshow to display your position along your journey. Controlling the interface is just by a flick on the wrist. More info and video link after the jump!
Although this project is still at the protyping stage, but a company has been formed, Pileus LLC. But they’re still looking and begging for investors to commercialize it. This is definitely pretty huge kind of investment, so it carries those begging big words such as Google, Buy Me!†and Yahoo! Buy Me! on the company website.
