Reverse paper shredder!Reverse paper shredder, which is the technology that can undo paper shredding. This is the technology that has been developed by a group of German researchers. Basically, it’s the software that can recover the shredded paper. The development of technology was carried out due to a need to recover 45 million shredded pages of police documents torn to some 600 million scraps 18 years ago. The recovering process involves those pieces of the torn documents to be scanned on both sides, which then lets the system to analyze the captured image for features such as color, shape, texture, handwriting, and typeface etc. The system consists of a cluster of 16 computers, which can analyze up to 25 features. Of course, once this technology becomes commercialized and handy, it’ll probably create some problem for those corporate, as their business secret on shredded documents could then be easily reversed and then go into the hands of their rivals. When the time comes, corporate will probably need to burn all those documents instead of only sending it to paper shredder!

[...] Unfortunately if you believe the claims of some German research studies, they believe that they have developed a program that can actually fix, shredded documents, oh yes that is what they are claiming. Basically the software can put together the text that from the original documents, to most of us it is a frightening prospect, however if we look at it from another point of view, when there are investigations into crime or governments that are overthrown, it would appear that shredding all those files would be enough. Maybe they will need a large furnace too. Source [Techchee] [...]
