Microsoft is working on a software research, a kind of split screen that enables two users per PC. This research was carried out at Microsoft Research India, which they’ve successfully produced a software that enables two people to work on one single PC. To share the PC by two persons, you need only two sets of keyboards and mice. And the two users will have a two totally independent sessions, but these two sessions will share the same processor and memory. This technology is intended to help the poor to save the cost of PC hardware. I think it’s best for those colleges and schools that wanna cater for more students to use computers. Anyway, I wonder how comfortable of having two persons to work by sharing one monitor display. It’d be much better to connect two monitors to the PC and having each half of the split screen to be displayed on each monitor. Of course, this will add little bit more cost to it.
