Japanese cellphones would be able to make satellite callsIn Japan, the cellphone network is definitely insufficient for coping phone calls during emergency. As we all know that Japan is the country that sits on  within the pacific volcanic ring, which is vulnerable to earthquake. So during the emergency of earthquake, tons of phone calls will be made, the existing cellphone network surely fails to cope. In order to cater for much larger usage during emergency, the Japanese government plans to launch an orbiter, which will serve as a mega attenna that makes ordinary cellphone to be able to pick up its signal at every corner. Of course, such a kind of implementation by lauching a satellite is not overnight, it will only be made possible in the year of 2015. The satellite sports a dish of 50m dismeter, which is actually more than twice that the current satellite has. And there is also a need for little modification on those normal-sized cellphones in order to be able to communicate with this satellite.
