Comfish - computer-controlled aquarium
Just a few weeks ago,we learned that one of the contestants’ project for the Embedded Systems Conference was a WiFi-enabled aquarium, which allows you to raise your fish over the Internet. Here is another aquariym, which is a Korean product, Comfish, which also works with your computer and browser. It looks like Comfish doesn’t work as directly as the WiFi-enabled aquarium concept, which lets you take care of your fish from afar over the Internet. Comfish is basically a fish tank that comes with USB, which can be powered by your PC’s USB port and also controlled by your PC. In order to operate it, you mostly need to connect Comfish to one PC using USB cable. Then install the management software that comes with it or downloadable from the website to that PC. You can then manage it from another networked PC using your web browser. If the PC that Comfish attached to via its UBS port is hooked up to the Internet either using wired broadband or WiFi, you should be able to get similar funtionality to the WiFi-enabled aquarium. The Comfish is equiped with built-in webcam to capture every moment of your lovely fishes. The environment of the tank, such as the water temperature, bubbles, filtration and also those LEDs are controllable via the web. Comfish will only cost you about $53.00.

Might be great if such thing exist 10 to 15 years ago where I still love fish. Too bad, tech was not that high during those great years. By the way, I think google is down at the moment I’m writing this. ;)

  3. Icey fish tank for the Eskimo?- by Gadget, shop online blog of TechChee.com Says:

[...] Recently, we’ve seen couple of smart or handy fish tanks and we all know what their purposes are and how useful they are. But, this one is definitely something that puzzles me. It’s a fish tank that made of ice – an icey fish tank. So, I think this fish tank is simply meant for Eskimo, so the fishes can stay alive and swim in it forever. If this fish tank was to be kept by someone who lived outside of the North and South poles. Then all the poor fishes in it will be just waiting for the time to come i.e. when all the ice melts down. I think it should be okay for the fishes as they shouldn’t have any knowledge of that their world is slowly dissolving around them. Else, their extremely short period of living will be full of fears.
