Drobo – data automation robot, to replace your IT department

Drobo robot!
The word “robot” has been used so commonly, even extended to only gadgets or devices that provide some kind of automation to certain tasks. Data Robotics, a company, which they claimed they’re like robot in handling data, has just released a new product, Drobo. Drobo is claimed to be the world’s first storage robot, as simply as it can detect and format up to a quartet of 3.5″ SATA drives of any capacity automatically. It knows nothing about cooking nice food or serving you with wine. It’s only a good robot for handling your data.

In terms of data handling, it can handle a wide range of maintenance tasks, which are used to be carried out your expensive IT department. Those tasks can be automated by Droba including creating redundancy, sensing and repairing data corruption. It’s compatible with both Mac and PC platforms, the Drobo is hooked up via USB 2.0.

It’s got four colored LEDs as the status indicator of each bay. When the LED shows yellow, meaning that it’s a warning sign, which you’re running out of storage space pretty soon. If the LED is flashing red, well, your hard disk is in deep shit – failure. Nowadays, every company is having plan to slash cost, perhaps a data robot like this, which costs you only $699, could help you cut down the number of manpower required for maintaining your precious data.
