Ersa, which is currently a prototype design by UNSW student, Scott Norrie, could be a killer gadget in the near future, which could save the life of those adventurous ones. You know, the adventurous ones always like to challenge the nature, explore the big desert, forest or a remote island. Ersa, is a gadget that takes energy from the sun and converts the air into water. If you were one day stuck in the middle of a desert or a waterless desert and you had Ersa with you, then you wouldn’t end up of dying of dehydration.
The Ersa prototype is currently a finalist in the Australian Design Awards competition. Its design is making use of renewable energy (30W solar module) to create water from the surrounding air. Furthermore, it allows the use of its excess power to charge your gadgets such as GPS units, mobile phones, iPod (Well, if you’re still in the mood of listening to your tunes, even though you’re stuck in a forest) etc. It also allows the user to give a jump charge to their vehicle’s battery.

What a wonderful invention. This is going to be a good news for African and those in desert. I hope it’s not going to cost a bomb, otherwise, it doesn’t serve the purpose.
