A virus is now possible to infect your iPod. iPod fans, don’t be too sad after hearing this bad news. This was just an experiment carried out by Kaspeki Kaspersky security research lab, to prove that a virus could infect your favorite music player, iPod. The virus named Podloso, doesn’t pose any actual threat to iPod users, according to Kaspersky Lab.
Podloso starts when a user installs the infected file onto their iPod. Once on the device, the virus scans the iPod’s hard drive and infects all the files–including any music or videos stored on the machine. When the user tries to run these files an on-screen message flashes, “You are infected with Oslo, the first iPodLinux Virus.”. Podloso only works on iPods running Linux.
