I’ll definitely feel so uneasy when I’m trying to access a file that cause the spinning of my hard drive making lots of noise. The uneasiness will lead me to thinking that my hard drive is going to blow out soon. Most hard disk manufacturers are only working on increasing the size and also the speed, but Samsung has a different approach. Other than the two, it’s also realized the importance of reducing the noice produced by the spinning of hard disk. Its new product, SpinPoint S166 hard disk series, are using its proprietary SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies to accelerate operational speed while reducing noise.
The SpinPoint series are 7,200rpm 3.5-inch drives, available this month in 80GB and 160GB sizes, offer up a significant 15 percent noise-level reduction.This reduction makes it great foruse in office computers, as well as in home consumer electronics such as Media Center PC, or any other hard drive equipped products intended for use in a quiet environment.
