At the first look, you’ll probably think the Samsung’s new phone, UpStage, its screen is simply not up to par, too small! But turn it over, it’s got a bigger one. That shows the concern of Samsung, which thinks of having one screen for today’s cell phone users is simply not enough. I’d like to call this a “two-faced” phone, since it’s got a smaller LCD on one side and a bigger one , 2.1″ on the other side.
The UpStage is a music-oriented phone. Its face with smaller screen is having a standard number pad for using as a phone, and the bigger face is having some kind of media player controls that good for playing music. You can use only one face at a time. You need to press a special button to tell which face that you wanna use. It works perfectly well both as a phone and a music player. It’s ultra-portable which weighs 77g and measures 4 x 1.8 x 0.4 inches. As a music player, the audio output is excellent and able to handle a wide variety of music formats and offers a decent 10.5 hours of playing time.
It isn’t that good as a phone especially its talk time is under 3 hours. And also its touchy control requires you with lots of practice and patience. The 1.3 megapixel camera is difficult to achieve clear photos.
