I was also attracted by the evil method offered by John Chow dot com, which John invited all other bloggers to write a review for his blog and especially have an anchor text “make money online” to link to his blog. And he will have link back to those reviews, which will have the effect of skyrocket boost for the Technorati ranking of the reviewers’ blogs. I did the review too and even twice, for some unknown reasons that my posts never picked up by John to be included on his blog. But, anyway, the method seems to manage to hold for the glory that lasted only for few days on Technorati. And Technorati has found out the evil intention behind, fixed their glitch and now all those reviewers’ blogs that were given a huge leap for their Technorati ranking, are now all reset back to its original or lower rank.

Other than this, John also managed to create the wave of crazy comments on his blog. As he offered those top commentators a link back on his blog, which will also have similar effect for the huge boost of Technorati’s ranking. I was also one of the impatient ones, joined the group and was actively posting comments for a few days. But due to my busy schedule, I failed to compete with those always hooked on the net. I never got the chance to squeeze myself into the top 10 commentators, so I had no luck for the linkback as the top commentator. Anyway, all these sound like “get rich quick” kind of method to boost your blog’s Technorati ranking seem to have failed completely. One of the John’s regular reader, Mark Robinson has covered on his blog that his ranking was reset back to 266,081, which he was ever boosted to 2,572 after being the reviewer of John’s blog and also the top commentator.

After doing all these, the one that gets the most benefit is John’s blog. I’ve just searched google for “make money online“, he is now ranked number three on the first page, even has overtaken problogger. So, John, sooner or later, you’ll get to the top, that’s really an evil way that you do it. But what is unfortunate to John is, his blog managed to make itself into top 100 Technorati blog only for a few days too. The last one I noticed was 99, but I didn’t manage to capture the screenshot. And it also faced the same destiny, penalized by Technorati and demoted to only rank 143 now. Just wish John a good luck, hope he won’t get penalized by Google. Anyway, this post will also give you a little contribution. It ain’t matter if you provide a linkback to TechChee or not. But, one thing for sure, that I won’t be crazy again for posting comments on your blog. Well, mainly due to I’m a busy guy and also I realized that the method does not work. Of course, I’ll still remain as a regular reader for John’s blog, as it’s undeniable that John’s blog is a good one. And it’s somehow serves as a pretty good motivator for those who wanna make money online.

As a blogger, we’re sometime really impatient and even obssessed wanting to push our blog for higher rank and higher traffic. What I wanna say here is blogging really takes your patience and consistency to build. For a blog to become famous and booming with high traffic, it will take at least several months or a year or more to achieve. Just like John’s blog, which is more than 1 year. And it needs good content and innovative idea to boost your blog. TechChee is now 3-month-old and ranked 79,304 on Technorati. I hope it will have a significant increase in ranking by end of this year. What I can do is to show my commitment, to continously feed you guys with better content and also strike to produce some wordpress templates for free download later. I’m now currently working for a new wordpress template for TechChee, which its new look will be as attached picture below. I’ll write a post for comment once I switch to a new look. Anyway, thanks for bearing with me for this lengthy post and wish everybody good luck on the blogosphere.

It’s true – it’s hard to be patient in this day and age. I’m glad Technorati fixed their glitch – now we can go back to building our blogs the old fashioned way.

Thanx God I found your post before I jump into the bandwagon of crazy frenzy of commenting and reviewing for others. I thought it will help to boost my Technorati and whatever ranking needed..now I realized there’s no easy way to be on top of the blogger’s Everest other than the old fashioned ways..huhu!

basically it will help to boost your technorati ranking but not overnite huge boost. The overnite boost resulted by John Chow’s review was due to glitches on technorati. But now back to normal after they’ve found out and fixed it. Anyway, I have just added top commentators here which provides linkbak to you guys’ blogs. If you get more links from other blogs ofcoz ur technorati’s ranking will be pushed up. The more you review the more incoming links you get.. So the higher rank you get on technorati and it takes time 2build and reach the top. If you have good and very interesting content and having over hundred of bloggers link to you.. then surely your ranking will have a huge boost overnight or weeks… So it’s back to the old method, better content, better ranking
Good luck

[...] There has been a pretty hot wind blowing over the blogosphere, i.e Technorati’s favorite exchange. Doing this will surely give you a big step ahead for pushing your blog’s Technorati ranking. I’ve seen quite a number of blogs doing it before but I never bothered to take part in it. Anyway, due to the invitation by TechLivez.com, another nice tech blog, then I’ve also decided to join the group and followed the trend here. Of course, there is nothing to lose to join this trend. For more info on this, read the followings and this would be much more effective than doing it using John Chow’s method: [...]
