CWIHosting suspended my account! Welcome to my new server!

If you guys managed to see this post, I’d like to say “Welcome to my new server at BlueHost.com“. This webhost is really speedy, I’d like to thank OhGizmo very much for having introduced BlueHost to me!

TechChee.com was hosted at CWIHosting.com but got suspended just a few hours ago. I was shocked when I tried to access for adding few new posts for today, it showed a suspended page as the above-attached screenshot (Click here to view larger size). There was no reason given and I was not informed earlier on. My payment is up to date, which I had made a payment for 1 year on early of February, 2007. I’ve posted my ticket for support to CWISupport, till now the ticket is still hanging there with no answer yet (Look at the attached screen below, click here for larger size)! A big thanks to OhGizmo again for having leaded me to BlueHost. I’d registered my BlueHost early last week, but due to my busy schedule, I did not bother to transfer over yet. Even though CWIHosting.com has been giving my site on and off downtime lately without any good explanation.

Once I spotted the suspension, without any delay, I gotta have full swing with all my technical skills, get into cheap-domainnames.com and changed my DNS settings for TechChee.com to point to BlueHost and also thank god that I managed to get a full site backup from the CWIHosting account last night, even though it does not contain the latest posts of yesterday’s work. The backup was done right after the first post of yesterday, and I did continue for about another 4 posts after the backup, which I’m short here now. To my surprise, these days, the domain name propagation over the Internet is really speedy, which it used to take at least 2 days. I guess some of you would still see the suspended page due to some name servers are not updated yet.

Anyway, once CWIHosting has given me an answer and the old site resumes, I’ll recover the 4 posts and also few valuable comments from readers. CWIHosting.com really sucks! They don’t deserve a link here.

    The way they run their business shows that they aren’t really in business. Pity them!

    Hi fenton;

    Haha cwihosting claimed that my blog has too much load on their server, caused a heavy load spike that almost killed their server, they suggested that I take up a dedicated hosting plan, I’m no engadget yet… Now they’ve transfered me to a temp server, asking me to contact the cto for this issue. Btw the hosting plan that I take at cwihosting is at least 20% more xpensiv than here at Bluehost, since I’ve used for so couple of years, then I didnt bother to change it. Will keep u guys updated once I’ve spoken to the CTO…..My 1st guess is they simply have a crap server that hosts thousands of account, which they’ve been complained by many others b4…once your site got a liitle bid of traffic, they’ll threaten u to upgrade… lets c…

    So CWIhosting is a low budget hosting company pretendin’ to be a big player. BTW, you mentioned that you have paid for the whole year. Did you managed to get your refunds?

    I havent asked for a refund yet, which I’ll need to talk to the cto 1st. CWIHosting offers several packages, from shared hosting to dedicated hosting, most new bloggers like us will normally take up the shared hosting package. The CWI package that I had, costs me about $99.00 per year, whereas at BlueHost, they have only 1 package and the price is 20% cheaper than the one I have with CWIHosting. I guess BlueHost 1 is also shared hosting. High traffic site like OhGizmo also have no problem, what else for mine, which is only a blog less than 3-month-old?

    A hacker got through Bluehost’s software and changed a few files in two of my five websites. Blue host notified me and told me if it happened 2 more times they would ask me to move to a new host. I cleaned up the files and changed my password. The next day without warning and with no further communications they shut down all 5 websites. I was a good customer and had been there quite a while too. I think bluehost is not a good place to put important websites.
