Finally, Apple's and Cisco's iPhone are in love!
I have stopped for quite some time for not following up with the lawsuit of Apple and Cisco fighting over the iPhone name. That’s my fault. Well, part of the reason was I got weary of hearing iPhone name. Still remember? Cisco filed a lawsuit against Apple for insisting using the iPhone name regardless an unsettled negotiation by both parties. The name iPhone is a registered trademark of Cisco instead of Apple, and Cisco had launched thier VOIP Internet iPhone last year in December.

Anyway, the two have come in peace, both agreed sharing the name iPhone. Lets take a look what the settlement is. Well, it’s straight forward, Apple has agreed to make its products to be interoperable to Cisco’s in terms of security, and consumer and enterprise communications. Perhaps, there would be a bridge between the Apple’s iPhone and the Cisco’s, which Apple iPhone would possibly include some VOIP features. To me, that is a good news since Apple’s iPhone name has engraved in my brain for few months after its release, it’d be hard for me to take it with different name, if Apple lost the lawsuit and forced to change its iPhone name.

That’s crazy! I have to start keeping up with things, I didn’t know they were in a battle with each other. That’s good that they came to an agreement, since the Apple iPhone just wouldn’t be able to go on with another name. Like you said it’s engraved in our brains.

Also, Apple has ‘i’ on everything, it’s what they do, iPod, iLife, iWork, iTunes, and the list goes on. Cisco (and every other company) should be putting ‘i’ on everything they make. It bugs me.
