I’ve posted a few of SideShow-capable accessories, from remote controls to portable display module, which are all in the preparation for the upcoming Microsoft’s Vista SideShow technology. If you haven’t heard or seen enough, here is another one, the SRM7500 remote control from Philips, for your Vista Media Center.
Just to recap, the Vista SideShow is the technology that you can use an auxiliary display (such as remote, LCD etc) to check your emails, schedules, photos, music, vidoes while your PC or Vista Media Center is off. The Philips SRM7500 remote, with its monochrome 6-line LCD, lets you do all the mentioned functionalities.
In addition to basic SideShow functionality, the remote can navigate through all of MediaCenter’s typical features such as playlists on its display, and control a wide variety of consumer electronics as a universal remote. The dissappointing is its display is monochrome. No pricing information is available at this point. This remote is expected due for release sometime this quarter.
