Over weeks of speculation about Apple would release a new product this week! Now it’s out, it’s iPhone! iPhone again? Yes, it’s iPhone! Wasn’t it the name “iPhone” taken by Cisco last year in December! Still remember the Cisco iPhone, which screwed up the dominance of the “i”-brand in the market by Apple ? Apple is just not so easy to let go its “i”-brand like that and the Apple iPhone has great features!
Lets look at what the iPhone has! It’s basically a mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch control and an Internet communication device (You can browse, email, search and maps etc on this small device, powerful?).
Making calls on it is damn easy, just point at a name or a number. It syncs all your contacts from your PC, Mac, or Internet (such as Yahoo), so you will get all your full list of up-to-date contacts on this small device! Another plus is, the first in the industry, i.e you are able to list your voicemail, therefore you can choose which message you wanna listen to (This technology was co-developed Apple and Cingular)!
What’s more?
-It includes SMS app, with a soft QWERTY keyboard for easily sending and receiving SMS in multi-sessions.
-It has a 2.0-megapixel camera and a photo management app.
-It runs Safari Web browser, rich HTML e-mail feels just like Apple mail, Yahoo search built-in, Yahoo IMAP e-mail services.
-iPhone is a quad-band GSM phone which also features EDGE and Wi-Fi wireless technologies for data networking.
-You can enjoy your iPod content, including music, audiobooks, audio podcasts, video podcasts, music videos, television shows and movies on iPhone. Its playe (available with 2 options, 4GB or 8GB) lets you sync through iTunes, 3.5in touchscreen lets you scroll smoothly through your tunes.
-Three advanced proximity sensors turn off display and sound when you bring it to your ear. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the display’s brightness.
-Doubles as a widescreen iPod with touch controls to enjoy content – including music, audiobooks, videos, TV shows, and movies – on a 3.5-inch widescreen display
-Its accelerometer detects when users rotate the device from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display.
- It features Cover Flow, Apple’s way to browse the music library by album cover artwork on an iPod.
$499 for 4GB model, $599 for 8GB model at Apple online store

[...] Why didn’t Apple name it “iFon” or “iFone” or “iTel” or “iMobile”? (I always use “fon” instead of “phone” for shorthand when typing SMS). In order to retain its dominance of the “i”-brand, Apple finally named it “iPhone“ and now it’s getting sued by Cisco after its iPhone announced for less than a day! [...]

[...] MyBlu, which looks like a 2nd generation iPod Shuffle, is a Bluetooth iPod-to-Mobile Phone dongle. If you have a smartphone and an iPod, join these two together using MyBlu, so you don’t need an iPhone anymore. Somemore, the price for a MyBlu is only $77.00, which is much cheaper than getting an iPhone. [...]

[...] I have stopped for quite some time for not following up with the lawsuit of Apple and Cisco , for fighting over the iPhone name. That’s my fault. Well, part of the reason was I got weary of hearing iPhone name. Still remember? Cisco filed a lawsuit against Apple for insisting using the iPhone name regardless an unsettled negotiation by both parties. The name iPhone is a registered trademark of Cisco instead of Apple, and Cisco had launched thier VOIP Internet iPhone last year in December. [...]
